They're just like the rest of us...curious about social media and wondering how they can deploy social media strategies. After all, even though most are nonprofits, these facilities are businesses at the end of the day. And all of the facilities should be curious what their customers are saying, at the very least.
Here's a view off my eighth floor balcony of the JW Starpass Marriott in Tucson. This is just HALF of the hotel! The conference center is the building the furthest in the distance. It is a gorgeous faciltity. With a Hashimi spa, two pools, two fitness centers, hiking and biking trails, you never run out of things to do. There is even a "lazy river" that you can float around and a water slide. Yesterday, my hubby Jim and I floated for a couple of hours and enjoyed the company of my dear friend Julie Shepard, one of the conference organizers.
Last night, we visited the historic "El Charro" restaurant in downtown Tucson. The chimichanga was voted one of the "50 best plates" by USA Today. Little did I know when I ordered it that it covers two zip codes! OMG that was the biggest dinner I have ever seen. And I only ate about five bites before giving up!
Taking a break from working on my presentation to blog, but better get back to work. There is a tequila toast every night at 5:30 in the lounge downstairs. The Legend of "Arriba Abajo" is a little story that is told and retold here and ends with a shot of a different kind of tequila every night. It's Jim's favorite drink of all time, so that's right up his alley. So that will be my dinner time break.
Later Friday we plan to visit a nearby observatory, should be a good time.
