As an avid Twitter user, I often get a quizzical look from people who don't use Twitter, when I try to explain how companies are using it to extend their brand and build their business. Having seen it with my own two eyes, I assure them that it can and does happen all the time. Sometimes I run out of the right words to explain and just give up.
One thing I know for sure...some companies really have no compelling reason to use Twitter. And that's ok. But for a vast majority of companies, Twitter presents a significant opportunity to present a brand presence in a unique and compelling way. If done properly, with respect paid to Twitter's culture and rules, companies like the Olde Main brewery can be noticed by hundreds of new customers.
