The video-sharing Web site Cashtomato.com staged a cash giveaway in Manhattan yesterday and was greeted with a nasty surprise! There are some really rude and greedy people in Manhattan!
This just goes to show you that security is an essential element of staging events. It may seem like a real waste of time and money, especially small awards dinners and the like. But you just never know when people will act crazy.
I wonder what my friend Peter Himler over at The Flack will have to say about this. Is Union Square Park a decent place to hold this type of giveaway?

Hi Claire --
Actually, I heard a segment on this little fiasco this morning on New York's 1010 WINS Radio (http://tinyurl.com/yv888f).
It reminded me of this little stunt from a couple of years ago(http://tinyurl.com/ytc84h), which I believe also was staged in Union Square.
The only difference is that YouTube was nowhere then (http://tinyurl.com/3do6af).

You have no idea what it is to live with these animals...no fathers, no school discipline, teenagers with babies, pants around their thighs, speaking a language I defy anyone to figure out...now there is a display at a Brooklyn Museum depicting the victims of 'Police violence' - supported with tax dollars...

Any idea who the AOR is that dreamed up this disaster or was it done in house?

I have no idea who their agency is, but not even an agency could have predicted mayhem like this. I can't believe that people acted like this.
Thanks for reading! Claire, aka PR PRincess

There are people from all walks of life and they can be really good or animals. Just take a chance when you mix a crowd like that.
